MAIN is launching with four platforms offering access to invest in private companies, hedge funds, real estate and other investments.

Millennium Trust Company has established the Millennium Alternative Investment Network, an online service for individuals and advisors dedicated to simplifying the custody of alternative investments, the firm said.

“Not only does MAIN provide individuals and advisors with access to a range of investment platforms and alternative assets they may not have previous been aware of,” said Scott McCartan, chief executive of Millennium Trust Company, “but we’ve also learned from the fintech industry’s laser-focus on the user experience. Investing in alternatives has historically been a cumbersome, paper-centric process and we are committed to using technology to change that.”

Real estate crowd-funding and small businesses loans are two examples of areas the network will cover.
