Merrill Names New Global Investment Solutions Head

Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management, part of Bank of America since the start of this year, has named Chris Dupuy - a veteran of 24 years at the firm - as its new chief of global investment solutions.

Mr Dupuy, who was latterly head of Americas distribution, succeeds Mitch Cox, who, as reported last week, has defected to Barclays Wealth to take up the role of managing director and head of the global investment and product office - a newly created, New York-based role.

In his new role, Mr Dupuy will report to Dan Sontag, head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s global wealth management business. Mr Dupuy’s core responsibility will be to manage the business’s financial products, along with overseeing all manager due diligence, portfolio construction and investment implementation. He will continue to manage distribution for the Americas until his replacement has been announced.

Before assuming leadership of Americas distribution Mr Dupuy was chief operating officer for the Americas bank group, having previously been national sales manager.

In other recent appointments at Merrill Lynch, news emerged earlier this month that the firm had hired four UBS advisors in the US.

Timothy Hickman was recruited from the Swiss bank for Merrill’s Houston, Texas office, while John Haselton, Jason Patrick and Robert Anderson join the firm in Cool Springs, Tennessee.
