Merrill Lynch Nabs Advisory Teams From Credit Suisse, Wells Fargo

Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, Bank of America's brokerage business, has brought in two teams of financial advisors, hiring a team from Credit Suisse’s US-based private banking unit, and one from Wells Fargo Advisors, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Bruce Lee and Jim Hoesley reportedly joined Merrill’s Private Banking and Investment Group in Chicago on Friday, moving from Credit Suisse where they generated a combined $8 million in fees and commissions and managed $1.2 billion in client assets.

Lee was at Credit Suisse for around seven years, while Hoesley worked there for 35 years.

Lee was ranked 72 on Barron’s list of the top 100 advisors in America, and is taking on a national leadership position at Merrill Lynch, the report says. This will focus on the growth of the UHNW client segment.

Meanwhile, Chris Sotus, Mike McCullough, and Alex Jarman are joining from Wells Fargo’s brokerage unit. The team are based in Savannah, Ga, and had combined $1.3 million in annual production and $257 million in assets under management, according to the WSJ.
