MeesPierson has opened a representative office in Jakarta, Indonesia, which will add to its Asia network with offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. "We are here to answer the many requests from our clients who have been asking if we could help them with their financial management needs in Indonesia," Rob Heggeler, chief executive of MeesPierson, the private banking and trust division of the Fortis group. Marc Joosten, the new head in Jakarta, said that one of firm's initial services here would be helping clients manage their wealth for philanthropic purposes, such as charity fund-raising.
