Macquarie Exec Relocates To Sydney For Private Wealth Unit

Macquarie Banking and Financial Services Group has appointedEric Schimpf as the new head ofMacquarie Private Wealth in Australia.

Mr Schmipf joins the company fromMerrill Lynch, where he was the regional managing director of the Private Banking and Investment Group, focusing on ultra-high-net-worth clients in the southeastern part of the US. His new role entails the management of Macquarie Private Wealth's 425 advisers for clients across Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The company manages relationships with around 232,000 clients.

"Eric has a strong track record of achievement from his days at Merrill Lynch, and we believe his breadth of client-facing experience and his strong leadership qualities are ideally suited to Macquarie Private Wealth’s culture," commentedPeter Maher, the head of Macquarie Banking and Financial Services Group, in a statement.

Mr Schimpf and his family will be relocating to Sydney from Atlanta, Georgia and is expected to assume his new post in the next few months. He takes over fromPeter Coleman, who resigned last year.
