MFS Investment Management Makes Trio Of London Appointments

Boston-based MFS Investment Management has bolstered its investment and product management teams in London with a trio of appointments.

Stuart McPherson and Ward Griffiths have joined MFS’s equity analyst team and will support both portfolio managers and analysts as part of the firm’s global research platform. Both now report to Christopher Jennings, co-director of equity research for Europe.

Mr McPherson joins MFS after 13-years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he held a number of analyst and senior research roles, including that of co-head of European equities between 2003 and 2005. Mr Griffiths was most recently a vice president for pan-European equity sales at Citigroup – a position he had held since 2004.

"We are pleased and excited to be adding two high calibre and talented investment professionals to our global research platform. Both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience as well as a global, team-first approach to seeking out the best ideas for alpha generation," said David Antonelli, chief investment officer for non-US investments at MFS.

Nicole Neubelt, meanwhile, has joined MFS’s institutional product management team as vice president, director of product management. In her new role, in which she reports to Betsy Palmer, senior managing director, global product management and marketing, Ms Neubelt will be responsible for communicating investment policy, strategy and portfolio positioning to clients, consultants and prospects.
