Lord North Street Founders Launch Private Wealth Consultancy

Owl Private Wealth, established by three seasoned practitioners, offers wealthy families and endowments early stage, strategic and structuring advice.
Three industry veterans including the founders of Lord North Street have established Owl Private Wealth, a London-based consultancy aimed at UK and international families and endowments.
Co-founders Adam Wethered, William Drake and Andrew Wimble have strong backgrounds across law, banking, corporate finance, trusteeship and investment management.
Most notably, Wethered and Drake founded Lord North Street - Private Investment Office in 2000. They sold the business to SandAire in 2014, becoming joint vice chairmen at the combined firm before leaving in July last year to launch Owl Private Wealth. Wimble, a chartered fellow of the Securities Institute and chartered wealth manager, previously worked at firms including JM Finn & Co, Barclays Wealth, Kleinwort Benson and ANZ Grindlays Bank.
Owl Private Wealth, which is not affiliated with any asset manager and charges a flat fee for advice, aims to help families and institutions crystallise the objectives, strategies and structures that the firm argues need to be defined before professional advisors and asset managers are appointed. This may involve helping clients assemble and coordinate a team of advisors, set up a single family office or source, appoint and hold to account the right professional advisors and investment managers for their needs. The firm does not provide investment management services, but assists with manager selection and performance monitoring.
“Whereas previously families and trustees may have relied upon all-embracing and generalised advice from law firms and their wealth managers, there has been a continuous move towards specialisation caused by the need for deep expertise in most areas of law, tax and wealth management, encouraged by the increasing regulation of professional advice," said Wethered.
He added: "Many families do not have the time to examine and pursue their complex requirements. In our experience there is now a gaping absence in the very high end wealth advisory journey. We will step into this role by providing overarching advice that brings together the appropriate specialists and helps the family and advisory team think through, from a personal and practical perspective, the critical and fundamental issues which span several professional disciplines.”
