London Asset Manager Strengthens Investment Team With JP Morgan Hire

London-based Insparo Asset Management has appointed Mahan Namin as assistant portfolio manager for its investment and research team.
Mr Namin, who was brought in to help with the company’s expansion into the area of foreign exchange and rates trading as well as research across both equities and credit, will focus specifically on research, idea origination and trading, the firm said in a statement. He also will assist in the firm’s overall macro risk management.
Mr Namin joins the company from the London office of JP Morgan, where he had worked as an FX options trader since 2005 and was responsible for trading the USD/CAD book as well as market making and managing the portfolio’s risk.
“His [Mr Namin's] appointment allows us to focus more prominently on areas such as foreign exchange and rates, trading and research. As the local market asset class develops and the product range for hedging specific macro risks relevant to our investments increases, we shall be looking to take a more sophisticated approach to these areas,” said Mohammed Hanif, the company’s chief investment officer.
In other recent hires, in August Insparo appointed James Gore from Grandhara Capital as finance and operations manager. He is now working alongside Jon Laidlow, the company’s chief of operations, who joined the firm in April this year to take up the newly-created role.
