The move comes after Fabian Rauber left the Swiss private bank earlier this year.
Swiss private bank Lombard Odier has appointed Chris Bonello (pictured) as head of the UK and Northern Europe desk in Zurich, starting in October.
Bonello replaces Fabian Rauber who left the bank earlier this year. He will report to Duncan MacIntyre, limited partner and UK region head at Lombard Odier Private Bank, the firm said in a statement this week.
In his role, Bonello will enable the bank’s team in Zurich to continue growing, focusing on the UK and Northern Europe as the group expands its presence in these markets.
Having begun his career as a trader at the Sydney Futures Exchange, Bonello will be joining Lombard Odier from Swiss bank UBS, where he held a variety of senior positions within both the investment bank and the global wealth management division. He was most recently desk head UK & Nordics International of ultra-high net worth individuals, markets he will continue to cover in his new role at Lombard Odier, the firm added.
“He has a wealth of international experience and a successful track record of generating growth in a range of environments, for both institutional and private clients,” MacIntyre said. “His strong client focus and proven ability to build close-knit teams will allow us to further strengthen our presence in the UK and Northern Europe.”
Headquartered in Geneva, the group has client assets of SFr318 billion ($375.5 billion), and 28 offices in 19 jurisdictions.
