LGT, the Liechtenstein-based private bank, plans to increase its sponsorship of equestrian sporting events and is to become the new sponsorship partner of the Riders Tour, a German horsing event. “Equestrian sport in general, and the Riders Tour in particular, represent an excellent opportunity for us to communicate our corporate culture,” said LGT’s sponsorship manager, Hans-Martin Uehlinger, in a statement. “There are strong parallels between the art of horsemanship and our wealth-enhancing culture of lasting values. Our involvement in equestrian sport increases awareness of LGT in the German market, which is still new for us, and it links the prestigious image of equestrian sport with our private bank.” LGT also sponsors the Hamburg Derby, a major sporting event in Germany. LGT added in a statement that the Princely House of Liechtenstein has a centuries old connection with horse breeding and the art of horsemanship: Prince Karl Eusebius of Liechtenstein, in the 17th century, was the first of the Liechtenstein princes to become seriously involved in horse breeding, and he established the famous stud farm in Eisgrub. In Germany, LGT provides private banking services to clients in Berlin, Frankfurt, Mannheim, Munich, Cologne, Hamburg and Stuttgart.
