Legg Mason Appoints Regional Business Development Boss In UK

The US-based fund house has boosted its business development capabilities in the UK.

Legg Mason Global Asset Management has appointed Harry Reeves as business development director covering the South of England. He replaces Tom Ormrod, who has left the firm.

Reeves joins from Neptune Investment Management, where he was a discretionary sales manager covering London, the South West, and family offices. He has also worked at Artemis Investment Management and Ruffer.

Based in London, he will be responsible for building on existing relationships across the region and seeking out new business opportunities. He will report to Legg Mason’s head of UK sales, Adam Gent, and will work with the group’s nine subsidiaries including Western Asset, ClearBridge Investments, RARE Infrastructure and Brandywine Global.

Gent said: “We are delighted to have appointed someone of Harry’s calibre. He has an exceptional reputation and his knowledge and experience will be a great asset to the distribution team as we seek to grow the business in the coming months and years.”

Legg Mason had $757 billion in assets under management as of 31 July 2016.
