Kleinwort Benson Appoints Head Of Wealth Management

UK-based private bank Kleinwort Benson has appointed former Schroders Private Bank head of business development, Stephen Rothwell, as head of wealth management.

Prior to joining Schroders, Rothwell was responsible for UK private client business development at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.

In his new role, Rothwell will work alongside chief investment officer Mouhammed Choukeir, who joined the firm from Morgan Stanley in October. He will also assist the Kleinwort Benson corporate advisory team in providing services to entrepreneurs.

Rothwell has been involved in all areas of private banking at a senior level, including networking with firms in the UK, the Channel Islands and Switzerland.

In September, the company hired Marianne Kafena from Switzerland’s Lombard Odier as head of strategic wealth planning, followed by the appointment of Danny Vogt as chief operating officer and John Boyce as chief technology officer last month.
