Kames Adds To Business Development Team

The UK-based investment house has expanded its wholesale distribution team, focusing on clients including wealth managers and family offices.

Kames Capital has hired Hari Patel as business development consultant.

Patel joins from Jupiter Asset Management. There, he was investment sales manager, responsible for selling single strategy, multi-asset and multi-manager funds to advisory businesses in the UK. He was previously senior client manager at trading group CMC Markets.

Based in London, Patel will cover accounts across the UK, covering the company's client base of wealth managers, financial advisors, fund of funds, family offices, fund platforms and banks. He will report to Mark Savage, head of UK regional sales at Kames Capital.

“Hari brings knowledge, experience and great client service to our UK wholesale distribution team – all of which are essential attributes for our client base,” said Mark Savage, head of UK regional sales at Kames.

From Edinburgh and London, Kames managed £56.8 billion ($81.5 billion) in client assets as of the end of 2015. The company has been busy making appointments, most recently that of John Deare, who this week became co-manager on its Active Value Open Ended Fund.
