Kames Adds Investment Manager

The UK investment house has boosted its equity investment team in Scotland.
Kames Capital has hired Robin Black as an investment manager within its Edinburgh-based equities team.
Black joins from Macquarie, where he was managing director in the Hong Kong division from 2010, responsible for global sales of pan-Asian equities. Previously, he was managing director, head of Asian and Japanese sales in North America at Deutsche Bank, based in New York. With 21 years of industry experience, he has also worked at Citigroup and Merrill Lynch as a director in Japanese equity sales, and at Martin Currie as an investment manager.
In the newly-created role, Black will help drive the team managing global equity mandates, with a particular focus on Japan. He will report to the company’s head of equities, Stephen Adams.
“The appointment of Robin adds strength and depth to our equities team, as we look to further develop our capabilities both in the UK and in continental Europe. Robin’s extensive experience in Japanese equities in particular will allow us to strengthen our credentials in the region,” said Adams.
From Edinburgh and London, Kames managed £57.8 billion ($74.9 billion) of assets as at the end of March 2016.
