Jefferies Enters Alliance With Australian Wealth Manager

Jefferies, the global investment banking firm with wealth management capabilities, has allied with Australian investment house Evans and Partners to distribute the latter's equity research on companies in Australia to clients in other parts of the world.
The partnership is set to launch in the next weeks, through which Evans and Partners will also provide local equity broking services to the New York-based company. The Australian firm provides wealth management services to private clients, institutions and corporations.
"We will benefit from Jefferies' global equities platform and this relationship will further strengthen our existing business by leveraging its global equity distribution platform," said David Evans, executive chairman of Evans and Partners, in a statement.
Jefferies been forming similar alliances with Asian firms in the past months as part of efforts to broaden its global client base. Recent deals made include ones with Indo Premier in Indonesia, Mirae Asset Securities in South Korea, Asia Plus in Thailand and KAF Securities in Malaysia.
The US firm's global equity research arm consists of 138 analysts covering over 1,600 stocks from centres in London, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Singapore, Tokyo, Houston, Nashville, New York and San Francisco.
