SuMi TRUST Global Asset Services has said it has completed enhancements to its Asian business as it focuses on three global hubs: London, New York and Tokyo, transferring staff from locations such as Dublin, Ireland, as part of the shakeup. It said it has strengthened operational and client service teams in all three centres.

Client relationship functions for Japanese and Asian clients are now being carried out from Tokyo, it said in a statement.

The Tokyo-based asset servicing team is composed of sales, client relationship managers and other staff transferred from the SuMi TRUST Dublin office.

All clients in the Asia region have been notified about the new structure and all have a dedicated RM, Makoto Tamino, global head of sales for asset servicing, said. He recently moved to London.

Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, which is parent company of SuMi TRUST Global Asset Services, said it continues to expand its presence in the region, with principal offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and additional branches throughout Asia.
