Irish Insurer to Boost Wealth Management By Acquiring Broker

Insurance and banking group Irish Life & Permanent is in talks to buy stockbroker Dolmen Securities to bolster its presence in the wealth management market, according to a report in the i>Sunday Times. Dolmen Stockbrokers has offices in Dublin, Cork and Limerick. Dolmen Securities was set up in 1995 and also has fund management and corporate finance divisions. The Sunday Times valued the firm at up to €70 million ($104.1 million). Irish Life launched a new wealth management business to tap into Ireland's fast growing mass affluent market last May. The financial services group identified this market as individuals with at least €250,000 of investable assets.
