Investec Wealth & Investment Continues Scottish Hire Spree

Investec Wealth and Investment, part of UK and South Africa-listed Investec, has expanded its Glasgow office with the appointment of four senior investment professionals.

Alastair Cumming, Clifford George, George Hunt and David Paterson have joined IW&I from Barclays in Glasgow, having previously been part of the Gerrard business before it was acquired by Barclays in 2003.

In other recent hires at the firm, last month Investec Wealth and Investment hired four senior investment professionals: Grant Milne, Gordon McAndrew, David Henderson and Ian Smith to its Edinburgh-based team.

These new appointments mark the latest stage in the expansion of IW&I in Scotland.  In December 2012 IW&I completed the integration of Williams de Broe and this significantly increased the size of the firm’s Scottish investment team and assets under management. This also prompted IW&I to relocate to larger offices in Lauriston Place, Quartermile One, Edinburgh, in anticipation of continued growth, the firm said.
