Investec Launches Emerging Markets Multi-Asset Fund

Investec, the UK and South Africa-listed financial services group, has launched an emerging markets multi-asset fund, which will invest in both the debt and equity markets.

The Investec GSF Emerging Markets Multi-Asset Fund will be run by Philip Saunders, head of global multi-asset investments, and John Stopford, co-head of fixed income.

Investors can expect lower volatility than with an equity-only approach and the fund will invest in defensive assets, frontier markets and commodities when appropriate, the firm said in a statement.

“We have seen increasing demand from our UK and international clients for this multi-asset solution to investing in emerging markets. This fund aims to offer an approach whereby proven components are combined by experienced asset allocators,” said David Aird, head of Investec's UK client group.
