Investec Asset Management Expands Fixed Income Team

South Africa headquarterd Investec Asset Management has expanded its global emerging markets fixed income team with the appointment of Mike Hugman as strategist.

South Africa headquarterd Investec Asset Management has expanded its global emerging markets fixed income team with the appointment of Mike Hugman as strategist.

Hugman joins the 28-strong team where his focus will be on the further development of proprietary and innovative research.

He joins from hedge fund Amiya Capital where he was an economist and before that he was a economist and strategist in Lagos and London for Standard Bank.

Hugman was also previously selected by the Overseas Development Institute for a placement in the Nigerian Ministry of Finance where he authored the 2008-2010 Federal Government Fiscal Strategy and the 2008 fiscal policy framework.

"We have built a successful 25-year track record as a specialist emerging markets fixed income manager by creating relevant investment capabilities for our clients, managed using well established processes by an experienced team. Mike’s knowledge and skills are a welcome addition to this team," said Peter Eerdmans, co-head of global emerging markets fixed income.
