Investec Wealth & Investment has added three senior investment directors to its Bournemouth office.
Rob Jones, Darren Elmes and Steve Hart all join from Barclays Wealth in Bournemouth, where they were directors.
All three will report to Scott Jones, head of IW&I’s Bournemouth office.
Jones has been the director at Barclays Wealth’s central south offices since 2003. He began his career at Lloyds Private Banking in 1988, before joining Capel Cure Sharp (latterly Gerrard and then Barclays Wealth) in 1995 as an Investment Manager.
Elmes began his career in 1986 at Lloyds Private Banking in Bournemouth, where he became an investment manager. He then went to Capel Cure Sharp as an associate director in 2000, before being promoted to divisional director in 2002. Following Gerrard’s acquisition by Barclays, he moved to Bournemouth in 2008 and became a director of Barclays Wealth in 2012.
Hart began his career at Richard Chubb Love Rogers in Salisbury and became head of the Dorchester office in 1998. Following Barclays’ acquisition he led the development of its private banking team for Wales and West region. He became a director in 2009.
“They bring with them significant experience in managing portfolios on behalf of private clients as well as charities, trusts and pension funds. Working closely with our existing team, they will play a key role in expanding our presence in Bournemouth and throughout the South West. These appointments build on IW&I’s success in expanding its investment teams across several of its UK offices,” said Scott Jones.
