Investec AM Names Chief Technology Officer

The CTO, whose teams who have won industry awards, is a prominent woman in a traditionally male-dominated sector.
Investec Asset Management has appointed Lucia Pino-Garcia as a
chief technology officer.
Pino-Garcia has worked as a technology specialist in finance for
more than two decades. She was most recently global head of fixed
income and liquidity technology at JP Morgan Asset Management
where she was also responsible for overseeing all asset
management technology in the EMEA region.
She began her career at BOA Merrill Lynch as a developer
supporting trading desks within the credit division. In her new
role, Pino-Garcia will focus on developing the technology
underpinning Investec Asset Management’s global operations,
helping the firm to deliver superior service to its clients.
Pino-Garcia and her teams have been recognised with several
industry awards, including the accolade of Banking Technology
Awards’ Outstanding Contribution by a Female in Financial Tech in
2015. As part of her strong commitment to support and grow
diversity and inclusion in the industry, she has developed
sponsorship programmes for female and other minorities
technologists as well as shared her lessons learned at the Women
of Silicon Roundabout 2017 conference with a speech titled
“Supercharge your Career: Advice I would Give to my Younger
Self”.
