International Law Firm Beefs Up Private Equity Real Estate Group

This publication brings latest news of moves and appointments in the world's wealth management sector.
International law firm Proskauer has appointed
Vikki McKay as a partner in its private equity real estate group
in London. She previously worked at DLA Piper.
McKay’s practice focuses on UK and cross-border investments in
the real estate sector for private equity firms, large
international companies and ultra-high net worth offshore
individuals. She advises across a range of real estate investment
classes, including logistics, office and leisure assets. Her move
follows the recent addition of private equity real estate partner
Joanne Owen in June, with whom McKay worked closely at her
prior firm.
Most recently McKay and Owen worked with long-time client
AccorHotels in its purchase of Fairmont Raffles Hotels
International, the Toronto-based parent company to the Fairmont,
Raffles and Swissôtel brands for $2.7 billion. Other eye-catching
deals include advising an international sovereign wealth fund
buyer in the acquisition of The London Hotel in New York City;
advising PT Property Holdings in connection with its purchase of
The Point Resort, a Relais & Châteaux luxury property; and
representing Hong Kong-listed Magnificent Real Estate on its
recent acquisition of Travelodge London Kings Cross
Hotel.
In addition to the recent arrivals of Owen and special real
estate counsel Ben Taylor, other additions include M&A
partners Steven Davis, Matt Rees and James Howe; Bruno
Bertrand-Delfau, a leader in private equity secondary
transactions; finance partner Alex Griffith; and tax partner
Robert Gaut.
