International Law Firm Appoints Private Client Partner

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery has hired the head of a rival firm's private wealth practice.

McDermott Will & Emery has appointed Simon Goldring as a partner within its private client team in London.

Goldring joins from Trowers & Hamlins, where he was a partner and head of the firm’s private wealth department. Before that, he was at RadcliffesLeBrasseur, where he headed up tax and private client capabilities.

He brings over 25 years of experience in domestic and international private wealth and tax, including personal and corporate tax planning, domicile and residence planning, asset protection, wills, trusts, power of attorney, probate and corporate structuring. He has advised clients including high net worth individuals, family offices, entrepreneurs and multinational corporations.

“Simon is a well-known, trusted advisor to many of England’s high and ultra-high net worth individuals. His arrival at McDermott will further enhance the firm’s outstanding reputation in the global tax and estate planning realms,” said Henry Christensen, head of McDermott’s international private client group.

McDermott’s private client practice operates out of offices in Chicago, London, Los Angeles, Munich, New York, Paris, Rome, Shanghai, Silicon Valley and Washington DC.
