The organisation, which operates in a number of regions, works with organisations such as family offices, institutions, consultants and wealth managers.

Investment house Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo, or GMO, has appointed Dexter Chua as its head of intermediary business, Asia excluding Japan, for GMO Singapore.

The appointment takes effect immediately, GMO said in a statement yesterday.

With more than 15 years’ industry experience, Chua previously worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he served as an executive director and head of Southeast Asia in its third-party wealth business, for more than nine years.

Prior to his tenure at GSAM, Chua was a client advisor in the funds sales team at JP Morgan Asset Management after beginning his career at BNP Asset Management.

“Singapore is an important hub for GMO, and I am committed to bringing an exciting suite of products to the wealth and intermediary segments across Asia,” Chua said.

Chua holds a bachelor of science degree in economics and finance from Singapore Management University.

GMO, which is headquartered in Boston, has offices in Amsterdam, London, Sydney, Singapore and Tokyo. It works with organisations including family offices, institutions, consultants and wealth managers.
