Industry Veteran Exits Morningstar

A key member of Morningstar’s investment arm is stepping down after a 40-year career in capital markets.
Andy Brunner, investment strategist for Morningstar’s investment management business in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, is retiring from the company.
Brunner began his career in financial services in 1976, holding a number of financial analysis roles before becoming director of investments at Laurentian Group. He later served as head of investment strategy and asset allocation at Prolific Asset Management and Aberdeen Asset Management.
Morningstar said his responsibilities would be absorbed by members of the global investment strategy team.
“During his long career, Andy has advised on manager selection, investment process and strategy across all main equity markets, and has also provided asset allocation consultation not only to us, but on a wide array of life funds, pension funds, and charities,” said Dan Kemp, chief investment officer for Morningstar Investment Management Europe.
“His insights, gained through four decades of experience, have served us well as we’ve expanded our advisory and discretionary offerings in Europe. We wish Andy all the best in his retirement from full-time service in the City.”
Brunner, based in London, will stay active in the industry in advisory and consultancy positions.
