INSEAD Launches Advanced Programme For Asset Managers In Singapore

INSEAD enhances financial portfolio in Singapore with an advanced programme for asset management executives.

INSEAD, the international business school, has expanded its executive education finance portfolio with a new advanced asset management programme in Singapore.

The programme, scheduled for a June 2014 launch, is a refresher course for senior asset managers, covering major trends and issues in the industry, the firm said in a statement. It is offered on the back of the launch of its Master in Finance degree in early 2013 and focuses heavily on behavioural finance and "how human action can impact and influence markets."

The development highlights how financial centres such as Singapore are investing in developing talent in the wealth and asset management space. (To see a recent summary of post-graduate programmes, click here.)

"To perform more effectively and meet the changing needs of clients, today's asset managers, financial analysts, mutual and hedge fund managers, financial advisors, brokers and investment and portfolio managers need a sharp understanding of shifting market trends, fundamentals and analytics. We introduced [the programme] to specifically address behavioural finance knowledge," said Professor Massimo Massa, the advanced asset management programme director and director of the INSEAD Master in Finance degree, the Rothschild chaired professor of banking and co-director of the Hoffman Research Fund.

The programme covers three key topics: strategic asset management, stock selection techniques and arbitrage investing.
