As it moves to expand its institutional and third-party business in the UK, ING Investment Management has opened a business development office in London and hired two people to join its UK sales team.

The firm has appointed Paul Waters as director of UK institutional and Peter Wilson as director of UK wholesale.

Waters joins ING IM from AIG Investments, where he was latterly head of UK business development. He has also worked as head of client services and consultant relationships for Aviva Investors.

Wilson was previously sales director, UK discretionary sales for Invista Real Estate Management. He has also worked as a sales director for Ivey Cox Consulting.

Both new hires report to Deepti Bhandoola, ING Investment Management’s UK country manager.

The new office brings ING’s total number of offices across Europe to 16.
