IBM Updates Asset Management Software

IBM made changes to its Tivoli Asset Management software, including broader support for software license management.
The new features will identify under- or over-licensed software, to prevent firms from over-purchasing and to reduce costs maintaining audit readiness and reducing compliance risk due to under-purchasing, IBM said in a statement.
The Tivoli software is designed to help companies find and manage software inventory, as well as determine how and when the software is used.
Other changes include a feature to identify services for the z/OS platform, including monitoring and reporting on software usage and trends.
The update also includes a license metric tool to allow IBM customers to determine their full and sub-capacity processor value unit licensing requirements to help maintain an up-to-date inventory and maintain compliance with IBM's PVU-based software licensing.
Tivoli offers for example asset management, security, storage software, and more, the firm said.
