Houston law firm recruits wealth-management expert

Mickey Davis to specialize in estate and tax planning for wealthy clients. Leaving a firm bearing his own name, Mickey Davis has joined Houston-based Bracewell & Giuliani as a partner and head of its wealth-management practice.
"Mickey will continue our tradition of offering value-added services such as personal wealth-management to our individual clients [and] to executives and officers of our institutional clients," says Patrick Oxford, a managing partner of Bracewell & Giuliani.
Communicating
Davis, a fellow of the American College Trust and Estate Counselas well as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Houston's Law Center will focus on estate planning and other wealth-management services.
Davis, an accountant as well as a lawyer, says that though Bracewell & Giuliani are dab hands at "sophisticated estate and gift-tax planning," the firm's main priority is "[listening] to our clients' needs and [communicating] their options in an understandable way."
Christine Borrett also joins Bracewell & Giuliani from Mickey R. Davis & Associates. She will work as an associate in the firm's tax section.
Bracewell & Giuliani was known as Bracewell & Patterson until former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani joined the firm last year. Bracewell & Giuliani employs more than 400 attorneys in offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, Texas, New York, the District of Columbia, London and Almaty, Kazakhstan. -FWR
