Hong Kong Hedge Fund Announces Senior Hire

Segantii Asset Management, the Hong Kong-based hedge fund, has named a new chief operating officer.

Nigel Hellewell joins the company from BlueCrest Capital Manageent, where he was partner for four years until June 2012. Prior to that, he worked for Deutsche Bank, Capital Markets and Ernst & Young.

His appointment is concurrent with the addition of Ambrose Meau to the team. Meau was previously the head of trading at Isometric Investment. Before that, he served Deephaven Asia, another fund management firm.

Segantii soft-closed its Asia hedge fund at US$620 million in June 2012, which means it is not open to new investments. It has, however, been expanding its staff numbers, making Meau's hire its tenth for 2012.
