Hermes Real Estate Investment Management Adds New Head Of Real Estate Debt

UK-based Hermes Real Estate Investment Management has appointed Marcus Palmer as head of real estate debt.

Based at the firm’s headquarters in London, Palmer will report to Ben Sanderson, director of international investment. 

Prior to joining HREIML, Palmer was a partner at Chalkhill Partners, where he was responsible for the buildout and development of its real estate platform, focusing on UK and Northern European real estate borrower clients. Before that, Palmer held senior management roles at Anglo Irish Bank – NAMA, RBS and Barclays Capital.

In his new role, Palmer will be responsible for managing Hermes' real estate debt programme.

Hermes manages assets on behalf of some 170 clients and has nearly £25.6 billion (around $39.6 billion) in assets under management, as at 31 March 2013.
