Henderson Sees Trio Of Managers Exit

UK-listed Henderson Global Investors has confirmed the departure of European equity managers, Bill Stormont and Paul Casson, along with Simon Savill - smaller companies manager.

Stormont, who joined Henderson in 2007, previously co-managed the Henderson Horizon Pan European Equity Fund with Tim Stevenson. Stevenson, who is lead manager of the fund, will now be joined by three investment professionals, in light of Stormont’s departure.

Leaving Henderson after eight years at the company, Casson, who previously managed the Henderson Horizon Pan European Alpha Fund, passes the reins over to Léopold Arminjon and John Bennett, who have taken over management of the fund. Both Arminjon and Bennett are senior managers in the Henderson Pan European Equity team, and manage the Henderson Alphagen Tucana Fund and the Henderson Gartmore European Equity Long-Short Fund.

Management of the £57 million (around $92 million) Henderson European Smaller Companies Fund has moved to the Henderson smaller companies team, following the departure of Savill, who joined the firm back in 1995.

In other recent departures at the firm, last month Henderson announced that its non-executive chairman, Rupert Pennant-Rea, is to stand down at its annual general meeting in May, by which time he will have been a director at the company for almost nine years.
