Head Of Singapore, Global Markets Private Banking Departs StanChart

Standard Chartered has seen the departure of Low Wei Ling, head of Singapore and global markets private banking, this publication understands.
Low had held the role for two and a half years, overseeing a team of private bankers covering Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, Europe and the Middle East.
Low is a veteran of Singapore’s financial services industry, and counts Citi Private Bank, Goldman Sachs and Macquarie Bank among her former employers. Details of her next role have yet to emerge.
Standard Chartered declined to comment when contacted by this publication.
In other recent news at Standard Chartered Private Bank, earlier this month the firm appointed Stephen So as head of investment advisory for North East Asia. He previously spent 18 years at Société Générale, where he held various management roles covering product development, sales and marketing in private banking and other divisions.
So will be based in Hong Kong and reports to Gary Tiernan, global head of investment advisory and client segment management at the private bank. He also reports to Desmond Liu, managing director/head of the private bank for Hong Kong and North East Asia.
In 2012, Standard Chartered Private Bank’s revenue increased by 12 per cent and its assets under management grew by 17 per cent in Asia - its most important market - and 14 per cent globally.
