The private banking arm of HSBC makes senior hire to drive growth.
HSBC has just appointed Annie Lim as Global Private Banking (GPB) desk head for Singapore, starting in December.
As part of HSBC’s strategy to grow its GPB business in Asia, Lim’s appointment shows the bank’s commitment to building a team to serve the bank’s ultra-high net worth (UHNW) clients.
Lim, who is joining HSBC from Swiss private bank Lombard Odier, has more than 29 years of banking experience in Asia. She has expertise in wealth management and client advisory, with a track record of serving UHNW clients, including family offices. Her career includes 11 years at Credit Suisse, along with a decade at Standard Chartered and American Express Bank.
In her new role, Lim will be growing client relationships in the UHNW segment and family offices, the firm said in a statement. She will report to Hammad Hashmi, market head, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, HSBC GPB.
“HSBC is deeply committed to our ambitious wealth strategy in South Asia. To support this growth, we are actively enhancing our team’s seniority, experience, and relevant skill sets,” Tommy Leung, head of Global Private Banking, South Asia, said. “Annie’s extensive expertise and proven ability to serve UHNW clients will be instrumental as we continue to drive innovation, capture opportunities, and meet the evolving needs of our clients. Her addition to the team reflects our deliberate focus on building a high-performing group that embodies our vision for growth and the wealth journey of our clients in the region.”
Serving the international needs of individual, corporate and institutional clients, HSBC in Singapore offers a range of banking and financial services including retail banking and wealth management, commercial, investment and private banking.
