HSBC Names Head Of Private Bank Investment Group, UK, Channel Islands

HSBC Private Bank has appointed Daniel Ellis to the new role of managing director and head of Private Bank Investment Group, UK & Channel Islands, based in London with effect from 14 June 2010, this publication can exclusively reveal.

Ellis will report locally to Declan Sheehan, CEO, UK & Channel Islands, and functionally to Nigel Webber, chief investment officer and global head of PBIG.  At a global level, he will work closely with the other investment heads: Tom Moore in the Americas, Jean-Cristoph Gerard in Switzerland, Olivier Pacton in Asia and Peter Rigg on alternative investments.

He is currently head of structured products for HSBC Private Bank (Suisse).  Ellis joined HSBC in 2001 to help build the 'over the counter' derivative and structured product offering within PBRS and was appointed desk head of the group in 2005.

Prior to this, he was financial controller for Flemings Offshore Bank in Jersey and started his career working in the Treasury Products Groups of Lloyds TSB in London.
