HSBC Makes Hires To Global Asset Management, Alternatives Teams

HSBC Global Asset Management has appointed Vikramaaditya to the new position of head of business strategy. In addition, Caleb Mercer has been appointed to the real estate team within HSBC Alternative Investments as an associate director.

Vikramaaditya, who has worked with HSBC for some 12 years, was latterly chief executive for HSBC Global Asset Management in India, a position to which he was appointed in 2008.

In his new role, based in London, Vikramaaditya, reports to John Flint, global CEO, and to Rudolf Apenbrink, CEO for EMEA. He is charged with leading strategic projects to support the business’s ambitious growth plans.

Vikramaaditya’s prior role will be taken over by Puneet Chaddha as CEO of HSBC Asset Management (India). Chaddha was most recently head of commercial banking for the firm in India.

Meanwhile Mercer joins from JER Partners where he worked within the pan-European acquisition team. In his new role he reports to Paul Forshaw, director, head of Real Estate Fund Management.
