HSBC Investments Arm Completes Majority MBO

The management team of HSBC Specialist Investments has completed its majority buyout of the unit, which is HSBC’s infrastructure and real estate fund management arm.

The business, which manages in excess of $4 billion of equity capital in funds that invest into real estate and infrastructure assets, has been re-named InfraRed Capital Partners

“Since we began the spin-out process last year the business has remained extremely active, completing a number of significant transactions across all the funds that we manage,” said Werner von Guionneau, chief executive of InfraRed.
