HSBC Global AM Appoints Asia, India Equities Head

HSBC Global Asset Management has strengthened its Asian equities business with a new head.

Sanjiv Duggal moves to Hong Kong to serve as head of Asian and Indian equities. Duggal, who was based in Singapore, adds this new role to his current responsibility as the lead manager of the HSBC GIF Indian Equity fund. He has been with the group for more than 17 years.

In addition, Viresh Mehta was promoted from being senior portfolio manager for the HGIF Indian Equity fund to head of equities for HSBC Global Asset Management's India business. More hires are expected to be announced in India in the next weeks as HSBC bulks up its on the ground team.

HSBC Global Asset Management has an extensive reach in Asia, with offices in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Brunei, China, Singapore and Taiwan.
