Guernsey Law Firm Dispute Goes to Arbitration

Following recent reports in the financial press that a dispute between the partners of Guernsey law firm Collas Day had been taken to the Royal Court, WealthBriefing has received an update. On 27 February 2007 the Royal Court of Guernsey sent the issues to arbitration, paving the way for a prompt and private resolution. The Court had been considering applications by two partners resisting the appointment of arbitrators, as provided for by Collas Day's partnership agreement. The remaining partners applied for the dispute to go to arbitration. Chris Bound, managing partner, said "The way is open to resolve the issues with two of our partners and move forward quickly. Staff and clients have been very supportive. We look to the future with confidence."
