Goldman Sachs has appointed Rene Mottas as co-head of international private wealth management for Europe the Middle East and Africa, according to reports in the Swiss press. Mr Mottas, who will work alongside Pernille Jensen, has also been named the new general manager of Goldmans Zurich. Mr Mottas joins from Credit Suisse subsidiary Clariden Bank, where he was head of European private banking. He previously spent 20 years at UBS. Goldman is targeting clients with more than €10 million ($12.6 million) in investable assets. The US bank had client assets of SFr11.77 billion in Switzerland in December 2005 and around 90 employees.
