Founder Of UK Wealth Management House Dies, Aged 47

The founder of a wealth management firm in the UK has died unexpectedly.

Richard Algar, the founder of wealth management and family office consultancy firm Artorius Wealth, has died unexpectedly at the age of 47. He leaves a wife and three daughters.

“Our thoughts and prayers are first and foremost with Richard’s wife Yanna and their three daughters who have lost a devoted husband and father,” Christopher Carter, chairman of Artorius, said in a statement today.

“Richard was known as a professional of the highest integrity. He was universally respected and liked by all who were fortunate to have known him. He will be sorely missed by all of us. His passion for doing the right thing in the right way was appreciated by all of those who knew him, and his unswerving desire to put clients first was the driving force behind the establishment of Artorius,” Carter said.

Starting his career as a private banker at Barclays and Merrill Lynch, he took on senior and board-level roles at Credit Suisse in the UK, Asia and Switzerland. The firm he founded in 2014 now has offices in Manchester, London and Zurich, employing 27 staff. Algar died on Thursday, 7 January, 2016.

Editor’s note: On behalf of the editorial team at ClearView Financial Media, I should like to pass on our condolences to Richard Algar’s family, friends and colleagues.
