Former CIO Of CBIZ Founds Independent Wealth Firm

Brett D’Arcy, the former chief investment officer of CBIZ Wealth Management, has founded a new company, D’Arcy Capital Management, following the sale of CBIZ to Mariner Wealth Advisors early this year.

D’Arcy had been at CBIZ Wealth Management, as well as predecessor firm Nation Smith Hermes Diamond, since 2003. On opting to found the company instead of joining Kansas-based Mariner, D’Arcy said he wanted to keep investment decisions “independent and local”.

The recently-launched firm is headquartered in San Diego, California and will focus its research on the large-cap value stocks and investment-grade bonds spaces. Krysta Cordill, a former senior auditor and planner at CBIZ, has also joined the venture as director of advisory services. She is responsible for all advisory services, financial planning, and consulting.
