First Republic Appoints Silicon Valley Investment Veteran As MD

First Republic Bank, the US firm which provides private banking and wealth management services, has announced that Mike Franks, who senior banker with experience in private equity and venture capital in California’s Silicon Valley, has been named managing director.

Mr Franks will work with a team of First Republic bankers dedicated to venture capital, private equity, real estate funds and investment management clients at the bank's offices in Palo Alto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, and New York.

“The ongoing expansion of First Republic’s Business Banking group will continue to be a key driver of growth for our franchise,” said Katherine August-deWilde, president and chief operating officer of First Republic Bank.

Prior to joining First Republic, Franks worked for Silicon Valley Bank for 10 years, most recently as managing director and director of Private Equity Services. Earlier in his career, Franks worked for Greater Bay Bank and Comerica Bank in the San Jose area.
