First Republic Appoints Portfolio Manager For NYC Private Wealth Office

First Republic Bank continued its hiring spree with the appointment of William Slayne as portfolio manager and managing director for the private wealth management unit.

Based at the Rockefeller Center, NY office, Slayne will be responsible for offering equity and fixed-income investment management services to clients. Client portfolios use both traditional portfolio management and carefully-screened outside managers for equity, fixed-income and alternative investments.

Prior to First Republic, Slayne was a senior director and senior portfolio manager at BNY Mellon Wealth Management and has also worked for US Trust. He brings 23 years of industry experience to the role.

This is First Republic's second hire of the new year, after the firm earlier brought in Oliver Campbell as a portfolio manager and managing director for the Century City office. Last year the bank made over a dozen hires across the US and further appointments are expected as the firm works to expand in major metropolitan cities.
