Fieldpoint Brings In MSSB Marketing Vet For Brand Strategy

Connecticut-based Fieldpoint Private Bank & Trust has brought in a marketing veteran, who has worked for the likes of Bank of America, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley, to head up its branding efforts.

Michael White is joining the firm at its Greenwich, CT headquarters to oversee brand strategy and advertising, as well as corporate, member and internal communications. He reports to president and chief executive Robert Matthews.

White was latterly executive director and head of product marketing at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Before that he was managing director and head of marketing at Citi Global Wealth Management, including the Smith Barney and Citi Private Bank units.

His career before that was in the advertising industry, where he worked on projects such as the reintroduction of the Bank of America brand following its acquisition by Nationsbank.

Established in 2008, Fieldpoint has had a busy year so far. It acquired Nutmeg Securities, a broker-dealer, in June and struck a deal with Mercer to extend its manager research coverage and due diligence in the same month. The firm also acquired Analytic Asset Management, a New York City-based RIA, in May. Before that, the firm hired Paul Guidone, former CIO of Citigroup Global Wealth Management, as its chief investment officer in March.
