Fiduciary Trust names Washington office co-heads

Franklin Templeton subsidiary taps Leffingwell and Smith to lead DC office. Fiduciary Trust has put long-time staffers Bill Leffingwell and Spencer Smith in charge of its Washington, D.C., office -- which goes by the name of Fiduciary Investment Management International (FIMI). They report to Gail Cohen, Fiduciary Trust's head of wealth-management servces.

Several years

"Bill and Spencer have demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities for our clients and within the Fiduciary Trust organization over the past several years," says Cohen. "Their combined experience will ensure the consistency and reassurance our clients expect as we continue serve this important marketplace."

Leffingwell joined Fiduciary Trust's Washington office as a portfolio manager in 2000 from Washington-based ASB Capital Management. Before that, he was a personal-trust portfolio manager at Riggs Bank (now part of PNC).

Smith joined Fiduciary Trust fromMorgan Stanley in 2002, also as a portfolio manager.

A subsidiary of San Mateo-based asset manager Franklin Templeton, Fiduciary Trust has offices in New York, San Mateo, Calif., Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Wilmington, Del., Miami, London, Hong Kong and Grand Cayman. -FWR
