Family Office Snaps Up Duo From UBS In Alpine State

Both hires have joined the firm's Zurich office.

Stonehage Fleming has appointed two new senior business developers in Switzerland.

The firm has hired Florin Hug and Andreas Pankow to strengthen its business in continental Europe and to promote the group's capabilities and practical knowledge to international clients, Stonehage Fleming said in a statement. Both joined from the world's largest wealth manager, UBS.

Hug spent 15 years with the Swiss lender carrying out a variety of client-facing roles. Most recently, he worked as executive director for ultra-high net worth clients. In total, he has 22 years' experience in banking.

Pankow has more than 15 years' experience in banking. Most recently, he also worked as an executive director at UBS handling UHNW clients. Prior to that, he spent a five-year stint with rival bank Credit Suisse as senior vice president and head of investment consulting.

Both Hug and Pankow have joined Stonehage Fleming's Zurich office and report to Andreas Knecht and Mark McMullen.

“Florin and Andreas both have impressive backgrounds in supporting ultra-high net worth clients in both the Swiss and German markets and their experience is well suited to our distinctive integrated family office approach,” said McMullen. “Both roles are newly created and we look forward to seeing them develop our organisation further.”
