The business represents the Netherlands-based Van Lanschot Kempen group with its international wealth management proposition.

Van Lanschot Kempen Switzerland has appointed Marco Robbertsen as chief commercial officer.

He is responsible for carrying out the wealth manager's commercial strategy in Switzerland.

Before this, Robbertsen worked as market head for the Middle East and chief executive of the Dubai office at Banque Internationale à Luxembourg. Before that, he has held various international positions at Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse. He started his career as a management trainee at ABN AMRO and subsequently became team head and senior relationship manager in Singapore. He has worked in the financial sector for 19 years.

Van Lanschot Kempen Switzerland combines private banking and asset management activities and represents the Netherlands-based Van Lanschot Kempen group with its international wealth management proposition.

The bank serves internationally-oriented private clients, family offices and institutional investors and maintains an international network of tax specialists, trust offices, independent asset managers and other intermediaries. In late August Van Lanschot Kempen reported that its net profit for the first half of 2021 rose to €58.3 million from €40.4 million, up 9.5 per cent year-on-year. Total assets under management stood at €104.2 billion, rising 18 per cent from the end of 2020. The group has made acquisitions in recent months. Earlier this year, it bought Hof Hoorneman Bankiers, a Dutch asset management group with a banking licence. In July 2021, Van Lanschot Kempen won approval to buy Mercier Vanderlinden, taking a 70 per cent stake in this wealth manager, and adding to the group’s Belgian footprint.

In early July this year, Van Lanschot Kempen appointed Lars Dijkstra in the newly-created role of chief sustainability officer.
