RWC, an active investment
manager based in the UK, has appointed two new individuals to
drive growth in its sales team in Italy and UK, having logged a
sharp rise in assets under management in the past year and a
half.
The duo are Matteo Cianfoni (based in Italy), who was previously
responsible for Italian sales at GLG and also at the equity
derivatives division for Morgan Stanley. He will join the RWC
sales team in August. The second joiner is Roderick Loffler who
will join the sales team from his previous three year role in
client services at RWC. He is based in the UK.
The firm also recently hired Jillian Smythe and Flora
Summerfield. Smythe previously worked for Plurimi Capital after
spending over four years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in
prime brokerage. Summerfield also joined RWC having gained
previous experience at global consultants, Cardano and Aon
Hewitt, is now supporting client services for the institutional
market at RWC.
“[Cianfoni] comes to us at a time of strong growth within our
Italian business, and we want to offer our clients an increased
level of local support. He will be responsible for the ongoing
development of RWC’s wholesale and institutional business in
Italy,” James Tollemache, head of sales at RWC, said.
“[Loffler] joining as a full-time member of the sales team is the
first of a number of developments we are making to our client
proposition in the UK market, and we are pleased to welcome
Jillian and Flora too, to further strengthen the team,” he
added.
He pointed out that RWC’s assets have doubled to slightly under
£6 billion ($10.3 billion) over the past 18 months, with most of
this growth driven by the UK and rest of Europe.
